A lot of people in this world are just trying to get by. They’re not living. They’re just surviving, waiting for the next day to come so they can do it all over again.
But what if you could make your life worth something? What if you could start living? Let’s discuss meaningful coherence–the idea that everything we say, think, and do should be coherent with who we are as a person.
What is Meaningful And Mindful Coherence?
Meaningful Coherence is when your thoughts, speech, and acts are coherent with who you are as a person. For instance, if you’re usually an outgoing person but find yourself being quiet most of the time around strangers, that’s not meaningful coherence.
If all your friends know about your gourmet cooking skills yet, it’s one aspect of yourself that no one knows anything about that isn’t also meaningful coherence. Likewise, you may have some intense spiritual beliefs or life philosophies but only talk to people about them on rare occasions; this isn’t very mindful either (it can even be bad depending on those things).
Everything we say/should reflect our whole self in its entirety–every side of us. We need to make sure our thoughts, speech, and acts align with who we are. We need to be mindful of what we say/do because when you do something that doesn’t reflect your true self, it’s not meaningful coherence–it’s the opposite.
Why do we need Meaningful Coherence?
What is coherence? Why do we need to aim for more coherence in our day-to-day activities?
One of the essential qualities that a human being can have, and one that is linked with happiness, success, and leading an extraordinary life, is meaningfulness. A person with meaning in their actions has cohesion between what they think, say, and do.
This means that every part of their lives makes sense as a whole – there isn’t any chaos or confusion going on here. So, if you want to become happier by having your thoughts, speech, and acts coherent, then this article is for you.
How can we achieve meaningful coherence in our lives?
You can do it through inner awareness.
First, make your thoughts coherent by understanding what you are thinking about and why you are thinking about it. Our thoughts determine our speech and act, so if we feel well, we will be able to speak well.
In other words, talk with yourself before talking to others! Only when you understand the value of thought does that thought become part of who you are—and this is true for all your reviews from negative ones like “I’m no good” or positive ones such as “I am a decent person.”
If someone tells me they want their children never to forget them when they die, I would say: Don’t worry, but keep in mind that people don’t remember much anyway unless you make them, and in the end, it’s your actions that matter more than any words.
Next, make sure you are not making false assumptions about yourself or others; we cannot be coherent if we don’t know who we are. Inner awareness is needed for this, too: how many times do you find yourself saying “I’m such a klutz” when you’re usually pretty good at most things? Or saying, “That guy drives like an idiot!” when they might be new to driving on that road.
So keep observing yourself and check out what you think of other people with a pinch of salt—we can never get along perfectly all of the time so let go of perfectionism.
One thing that helps with self-awareness is to be non-judgmental. This doesn’t mean you accept everything people do, but it does mean not judging them, even if they judge you (and remember that most of the time, we are judging ourselves).
Self-judgment can often lead us into negative thinking patterns like “I’m unhappy” or “they don’t like me.” And then these thoughts affect what we say and act out; for example, saying something unkind about someone else because a momentary judgment has activated your inner critic.
It’s so easy to fall into this trap without realizing it! So stop yourself whenever you notice an internal dialogue going on—you have stepped outside coherence now, so step back in again.
How can you apply the principles of Meaningful Coherence to your life today?
By following three simple steps, you can begin to make your thoughts, speech, and actions coherent. As a result, it is more important than ever that we all take action now to live the most meaningful life possible.
Meditation
This is a powerful way to begin working on your coherence. Meditation focuses all of your attention and awareness in the present moment as if nothing else exists but what you are experiencing right now.
If our minds constantly wonder, we can’t experience true happiness or peace because it will be impossible to appreciate the here and now. The more mindful we become, the better able we are at living with greater purpose and intentionality about everything we do each day.
Once you have established this kind of disciplined approach to meditation through regular practice, try taking a few minutes before going to bed every night where you focus on breathing mindfully without any other distractions from technology or entertainment so that your mind has time to process whatever it has experienced throughout the day.
Within a few weeks, you will notice that it is much easier for you to maintain your focus in stressful situations when they arise because practicing this type of mindfulness daily will change our brains and nervous systems. It may not be easy at first, but with time, patience, persistence, and commitment, coherence can become second nature to us all!
Writing or Speaking About What We’re Grateful For
This simple practice is another way to begin making our thoughts more coherent by shifting what people would consider a normal thought process into something extraordinary where gratitude becomes part of everything we do each day.
Mindfulness
The keys to making this practice part of our lives are because it allows us to become aware of what is going on in each moment as we go about living. It helps us see beyond all those things that people tend to complain and worry about so much where happiness, peace, joy, love, and gratitude can be experienced instead.
The power of self-reflection and meditation on what’s important to us as individuals, families, communities, and nations
When we do this, it helps us recognize all of those things that we have been taking for granted and the incredible opportunities and possibilities that exist within each moment.
This experience is a reminder about how everything in life is connected, where gratitude will help you on your journey and inspire others around you who are ready to join on an extraordinary adventure.
Writing or speaking about what we’re grateful for can be challenging but bear in mind that this is a process, and it may take some time before each of us starts to notice how practicing gratitude impacts our lives. However, the benefits will become more evident over time as we all come closer to living with greater purpose and intentionality.
Final words
Increasing our coherence can help us to experience our lives more fully and meaningfully. It is also possible for all of us to maintain this kind of greater awareness which will enable each one of us to enjoy a healthy, balanced lifestyle that goes far beyond the limits we may have previously believed existed on an individual level as well as within communities, families, and countries around the world.
